Flybe is a low-cost European regional airline with a particular focus on domestic flights in the United Kingdom. It was originally known as Jersey European Airways, before becoming British European, and finally Flybe in 2002. Its headquarters are located in Exeter, with two additional hubs situated in the cities of Birmingham and Manchester, as well as operating bases in Aberdeen, Belfast, Cardiff, Doncaster, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow and Southampton. In addition to these hubs, Inverness, Jersey, London and Hannover are also focus cities.

Flybe's fleet numbers over 75 planes that are a mixture of jet and propeller aircraft. Liverpool, Belfast and Paris are among some of the most popular Flybe flights. The airline has agreements with Air France, Aer Lingus, British Airways, Air India, Emirates, Cathay Pacific, Etihad, KLM, Finnair, and Virgin Atlantic. The company is not a member of an alliance but does take part in the Avios frequent flyer program.

Online check-in

Online check-in for Flybe flights is open from 36 hours prior to departure up until 2 hours prior to the scheduled take-off time. Some passengers also have the option of automatic check-in via email. With this option, they will automatically receive their boarding pass between 36 and 15 hours before their flight without needing to take any action. Passengers can also check in at the airport by using a self-service terminal or going to the check-in counter. Seat selection for Flybe flights depends on the ticket type. Just Fly passengers will be assigned a seat when they check in. Get More and All In passengers are able to choose their seat in advance. Just Fly passengers can select a seat for an additional charge.

Hand luggage allowance

As standard on a Flybe flight, passengers are allowed 2 items of hand baggage per person. The first standard item should not exceed 55 x 35 x 20 cm, while the smaller item, such as a handbag or a laptop case, should be able to fit beneath a plane seat. These sizes include all wheels, handles or protruding pockets. These two items must also not weigh more than 10 kg in total. Passengers should be careful that their hand luggage conforms to these regulations as items which are too large or too heavy will have to be checked in and will therefore incur an extra fee.

Checked baggage policy

Checked baggage allowance on a Flybe flight depends on the passenger's ticket type. Just Fly passengers must pay extra for checked baggage. Get More passenger are allowed 1 piece of checked luggage that can weigh up to 20 kg. All passengers are allowed 2 pieces of hold baggage with a combined weight of up to 40 kg. If passengers exceed the limits allowed by their ticket type, they will have to pay an extra charge. There are no maximum dimensions for checked luggage. Passengers can add to their cabin baggage allowance online until 2 hours before their flight's departure or by phone until 4 hours before the flight, although this must be done before checking in. Students are able to buy a 40 kg allowance for the same price as a 20 kg allowance. Flybe will carry a number of special items free of charge, including baby equipment (e.g. pram or car seat), a wedding dress or suit, a wheelchair or a walking aid. Sporting equipment is not carried for free and will be charged a fee based on the size, weight and type of the item or items.
